Frequently Asked Questions
How long will it take to build my custom rod? Most rods are shipped within 3-4 weeks of the order date. If you're nervous that we might not make it in time, please give us a call. We can provide you with an estimate and/or adjust the shipping method as needed.
Where do you ship the completed rod?
During the checkout process you will specify a shipping address. We'll send it anywhere in the U.S.
I'm debating between several options and need some advice, can you help?
We're always happy to help. Give us a call or send us an email and we'll help you pick out the perfect components for your custom rod.
I see some options are available on standard Scott rods that aren't available in the custom shop, can I request them on my custom rod?
Some custom shop components are incompatible with parts used on standard custom rods. In other circumstances, we simply didn't anticipate that someone would ask for a standard component. If you would like to find out if a specific part can be added to a custom rod, please give us a call or send us an email.
I just want to change a grip or a single component on a rod, do I really need to order my rod through the custom shop?
We offer a few different configurations of models in our standard rod lineup, if your desired option isn't available as a standard rod, we can build it to your specifications through the Scott Custom Shop.
Can you build rods on discontinued blanks?
Where there's a will, there's a way. If we still have access to the original materials and mandrel sets, we can build it. Please contact us for more information.
Does Scott offer one-of-a-kind blank design?
We can only build custom rods on existing or discontinued blanks. We don't offer unique blank design in custom shop.
I live overseas, why can't I order a custom rod?
Due to the complexities of customs and VAT, we aren't able to offer custom rods for sale internationally through our website. Our overseas custom shop program is administrated by our international sales distributors. Please contact your local Scott dealer to inquire about ordering a custom rod through your country's distributor.
